Cabin Fever: Phase 1
Today marks the end of the first two weeks of recording Shawn's, yet to be titled, new record. We're have about 80% of the record complete with just a few acoustic type songs to record. We got this far this fast by setting up a studio in cabin and just going around the clock until we had to leave to set sail on the Cayamo. You can read more about the session in the "notes" tab of Shawn's Facebook page.

12 Bands: 12 Months
For the past several years Shawn has participated in the 12 Bands Campaign in Augusta, GA to help raise funds and awareness in the fight against pediatric cancer. Patrick Blanchard, "Our Bass Player", has been our link to this wonderful event through his musical philantropy and this year he has stepped down from being a musician in the cause, and stepped up to be a board member. The new format will continue the fundraising efforts throughout the year, instead of limiting it to the month of December. Shawn will be the featured artist for January and we signed you up to be the featured donors! During our January shows we are going to be asking you to contribute in small ways.

King's Pick: Team Mullins
On this weeks issue of Entertainment Weekly, you'll find Team Twilight on the cover for the release of New Moon, the second installment of the Twilight Saga. You can read all about their story on page 30. For those of you who are on Team Mullins, Shawn made page 26. Each issue comes complete with a pop culture section written by novelist Stephen King and this week he features the Uncle Stevie Mix Tape. There's a great mix of americana and nestled into the number three spot is a song we like to call Beautiful Wreck. More interesting to us is that he has chosen the live version from the Variety Playhouse cd/dvd collection over the 9th Ward Pickin' Parlor studio version. At Work: The Office
So, it was a surprise to us too, but we are all avid fans of the show so of course we didn't miss it. For those that didn't see it, we'll post a link to Hulu or one of the other sites that show The Office online. Shawn said that he was completely honored that a show of that caliber would give him such recognition, even though it was tongue and cheek. Michael Scott sings Lullaby occurs around the 5:00 minute mark and you can watch it for free for a limited time on Hulu.com.

Tour: Wild Wild West
We're heading to New Mexico and Colorado for the weekend to play a few shows. Admittingly, we're feeling a little rusty since everything we have done in the last few months has been within an hour of Atlanta. The Atlanta Airport seemed like and odd place until we hit security with our suspicious bags. Then the whole routine came back to us...

Artist Relations: Zac Brown
Shawn celebrated with Zac Brown as his record "The Foundation" was certified platinum by the RIAA. Verizon Wireless contracted Zac to play a private event on the date with a long set of music provided by Zac's Band, Sonia Leigh, Levi Lowrey and Shawn. Shawn has a co-write on the album with the song "Toes", so far it's made it's way up the country charts while "The Foundation" has moved in and out of the number one spot for the last few months. Nice Job Zac!

Studio Session: Callaghan

This week we have a visitor from the U.K. with London based singer-songwriter Callaghan to record a few songs for an upcoming release. We recorded the the bulk of the tracks at Gerry Hansen's studio with members of Shawn's band while recording piano and organ with Marty Kearns at 800 East studios in Atlanta. "The world needs more singer-songwriters like Callaghan. In a time where mediocrity is seen as brilliant, Callaghan truly shines as the real deal. Her voice is original and pure and she is one of the greatest unsigned talents that I've ever heard."- Shawn

Webisode: High Rise The Series

The first season of Steve Barnes' new mini-sode series, "High Rise" wrapped in March 2009. Shawn played a bartender/struggling musician Grant Rollins who is trying to break-out of the Atlanta music scene. Set amongst the Buckhead area high rise condominium, Terminus, the story centers around the resident's daily lives and their individual quests for love, friendship and their place in society.High Rise Link
